Idol Tossed Into the Tiber

“Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen” (1 Jn 5:21).

I was beginning to write a post when I open my email and found this update from Rome. Someone, hopefully, a faithful Catholic member, in Rome, Italy collected Earth Mother idols and threw them into the Tiber.

The headline was:

Breaking: Amazon Synod Pachamama Idols Thrown into Tiber River in Rome

Breaking news from Rome, everyone: Some courageous soul has decided there’s been enough dialogue and bridge building and it’s now time for some action: The disgusting Pachamama idols that had popped up in the church of Santa Maria in Traspontina and that Francis had blessed in the Vatican Gardens on Oct. 4 in connection with the ongoing Amazon Synod, have been removed by an as-yet-unidentified individual and cast into the Tiber river.

This article comes from Norvous Ordo Watch, which allows me to update those who are newly awakened to the tremendous upheaval among faithful Catholics to what the terms “Norvous Ordo” and “Sedevacantist” mean.  As I’ve said in earlier posts, faithful Catholics in transition seem to be either conservative, traditional, or sedevacantis. Sedevacantis have entirely disengaged from Rome and consider the last valid pope to be Pope Pius XII, who died in 1958. From the About page:

“Indeed, we believe that the Throne of St. Peter has been vacant (empty) since the passing of Pius XII, although we acknowledge as a possibility that a true Pope was elected at some point after Pius XII and then impeded from exercising his papacy.”

While sedevacantist means “the seat of the pope is vacant,” norvous ordo means “new order.” The term applies to the new Mass, which stemmed from Vatican II and to sedevacantists, extends to the Roman Church since the same time.

“Since then, true Catholics who have kept the Faith handed down to us unadulterated from Pope St. Peter until Pope Pius XII, have come to label the entire new religion this “Mass” expresses as “Novus Ordo”, and hence we refer to it as the “Novus Ordo religion” and its worldwide establishment headquartered in the Vatican as the “Novus Ordo Church”.”

Until Pope Benedict XVI‎ reinstated the Latin Mass within the Church, many seeking the traditional Mass looked outside of diocesan churches to find one.  Some considered themselves to be traditional Catholics and remained part of the current Church.  Others chose to totally disconnect from today’s Church as we know it.  Here is the link:  About Norvous Ordo Watch
