Prayers that Avail Much

The above words from the Book of James are so true. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. This page links to prayers saints all over the world have used for many generations to communicate with God. Jesus got us started by teaching the disciples how to pray to God, our Father, early on. The Apostles John and Peter encourage us to pray in their gospel books (The Book of Mark comes from Peter) and their epistles. Paul tells us to “put on the full armor of God “praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—”

Prayers we read are simply formatted words, but when we use our intellect and will to speak them forth to God they become much more. They become a language of beauty between father and child, friend to friend, lover to lover. Our God desires to be all of those things to us. So much so that as Jesus said in John 3:16-17, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”

What you will find here are the prayers that I have found to be powerful resources daily and in times of great distress. Sometimes just prayers of thanksgiving. Occasional music videos. One thing I always find myself telling God at the end of the day is that there just aren’t enough words to say “Thank You!”
